Industry and social enterprises

All industry and social enterprise members - from sole traders to small to medium enterprises to large corporations - involved in the healthcare and life sciences sector in the West Midlands and beyond will be supported in the adoption of innovation at scale and pace.

Membership for industry and social enterprises

For industry and social enterprises, WMAHSN membership will produce tangible benefits through increased collaborative activities, the identification of potential new markets, new patients or technology pathway approaches.  It will allow for access to specialist advice, raise companies’ profiles and promote their services.  In addition, WMAHSN membership will help to find potential funding routes and access national and international research, development and collaborative innovation opportunities.

WMAHSN membership allows industry and social enterprises to access to specialist advice, raise companies’ profiles and promote their services. In addition, WMAHSN Membership will help to find potential investors, provide potential funding routes and access national and international research, development and collaborative innovation opportunities.

The scheme supports WMAHSN and its industry and social enterprise members to achieve the two key objectives of improving health and creating wealth by delivering improvements in healthcare across each of the priorities through industry collaboration and attracting inward investment.

It does this through membership networks and support programmes connecting industry, social enterprises, NHS, local authorities, academics and researchers to accelerate the process of innovation and facilitate the adoption and spread of innovative ideas and technologies across large populations. Breaking down traditional organisational boundaries and building stronger relationships between members – coupled with better knowledge exchange – will bring lasting benefits as best practice is spread quickly and widely across the NHS in the West Midlands. We work closely with industry and social enterprise partners, developing and delivering programmes that lead to improvements in healthcare and the local economy.

The fee for WMAHSN standard membership scheme is offered at no cost, as it is subsidised by NHS England and NHS Improvement for 2017-2018. However, this may change in the future.
