Adhering to the principle of shared decision-making is central to the medicines optimisation agenda and an essential part of demonstrating compliance with NICE guidance for local NHS organisations. Co-chaired by Clare Howard and Martin Stephens, expert leaders in medicines optimisation from Wessex AHSN, this workshop – run jointly by WMAHSN and Pfizer - aims to examine how NHS organisations could best be supported to involve patients in decisions regarding their medicines and to implement NICE guidance with respect to shared decision-making.

Representatives of local clinical commissioning groups, NHS trusts, formulary decision-making bodies and patient advocacy groups have all been invited to take part, which is being held on 7 October at Austin Court, 80 Cambridge Street, Birmingham.

To inform the discussion on the day, we would be grateful if you could complete a short five minute survey. Your responses will be used to stimulate discussion at the workshop, and there are separate surveys for CCGs and trusts.
