The Health Foundation, an independent charity committed to bringing about better health and care for people in the UK, has released a video showing the powerful impact that the Simple Telehealth/Flo programme can have on its users. The film is one of five made as part of the Health Foundation's Power of People films.

Flo is an easy to use telehealth service, designed by NHS professionals to provide support and advice for patients, enabling them to manage their own long term health conditions. Flo combines the expertise of the patient’s healthcare team and the convenience of their own mobile phone to give them prompts and advice via text messages. If the patient needs a little more assistance, Flo helps them to monitor their vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen levels and many others.

in the video, Flo helps a young person manage his diabetes, an older person live with his asbestosis and a new mother breastfeed her baby son, showing how a simple telehealth service can make a world of difference to patients' lives, as well as helping health professionals support people to better manage their health.

Flo is supported as a programme by WMAHSN under its Person-Centred Care theme. The service has now been used by more than 25,000 people across more than 70 health and social care organisations in England, and that number is increasing all the time.
