A web-based engagement hub for the non-medical prescribing (NMP) community, which includes many evidence-based resources and good practice tools to provide an innovative community for the continuing education, has been launched.

As part of its medicines optimisation and adherence priority, WMAHSN has supported Prescribers’ SPaCE, the Sharing Practice and Continuing Education web platform. The website will provide an effective engagement channel, a workspace for collaborative working and a suite of tools for designing and sharing ideas, thoughts and concerns.

SPaCE is free, quick and easy for NMPs to register. Its features include:

  • Effective online community to work together with other NMPs:
    • share ideas
    • share evidence-based resources
    • share good practice tools
    • support quality prescribing
  • Efficient development of new and extended roles by non-medical prescribers within localities:
    • free online platform for NMP innovation to be celebrated and shared to develop non-medical prescribing across the NHS
  • Supports NMPs with continuing professional development (CPD) through access to the latest evidence and information on relevant courses, events and conferences:
    • CPD tracker automatically records CPD as NMPs interact with the website
    • NMPs get a personalised, digital and printed CPD certificate detailing CPD completed by interacting on Prescribers’ SPaCE.

To register free for the Prescribers’ SPaCE website, please go to www.nonmedicalprescriber.co.uk.

Prescribers’ SPaCE is compatible with Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer 8+, though it will be a much better experience in Internet Explorer 9+.  It is also compatible with Apple and Android devices.
