Integrated Health and Care trade mission to China

The Departments for International Trade and Health are inviting you to register interest in a unique Integrated Health and Care trade event for the China market. They will be running an Integrated Health and Care mission to Hangzhou (5 December 2016), Shanghai (6 – 7 December) and Guangzhou (8 – 9 December), where a select group of companies and organisations will be introduced to a powerful set of project owners. There will also be an extension visit to Hong Kong, with meetings with customers set up for Monday 12 December.

The departments are creating this chance to engage with Chinese customers in every aspect of health and care outside hospital in response to demand from the China market. The mission chimes with the recently published joint report from the World Bank, the Chinese Government and the World Health Organization, Deepening Health Reform in China, which recommends the country shift away from its current hospital-centric model, which rewards volume and sales, to one focused on health outcomes that is centred on primary care and offers better value for money.

They are looking for companies and organisations keen to export their expertise to China that provide the range of health and care services provided outside hospital and work together to meet the needs of people living at home or in community settings. In particular, they are looking for companies and organisations with interests and capability in:

  • Smart design, development and management of sustainable facilities for health and  care
  • Health education and promotion, health checks and advice
  • Design and development of personalised retirement, elderly care and primary and community health services, rehabilitation and hospice services
  • Operating these services and facilities
  • Smart training and development for clinical and care staff and managers
  • Digital systems from records to clinical decision support to telehealth and telecare to health and care analytics to automated quality and efficiency management.

There will be a combination of seminars and matching events in each city where key buyers, influencers and partners would be able to effectively discuss commercial opportunities with participating UK companies and organisations. One-to-one Business Matching with specific project owners with whom there are already established relationships will be arranged.

There will be a modest registration fee for the event which will cover participation in the mission and the demonstrator and the itinerary for the week as a whole. Register your interest in joining this mission by responding to Cherrelle.Johnson@trade.gsi.gov.uk by 9 September. Formal registration will follow.
