Patients should be more involved in decisions about their care, says NICE

A new collaborative, made up of the UK’s leading healthcare organisations including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), has set out plans that will help get patients more involved in decisions about their care. Called the ‘Shared Decision Making Collaborative’, the group of organisations will work together to ensure shared decisions about care become a reality in everyday clinical practice.

The SBRI Healthcare autumn funding competition opened for applications on 26 September. Entrepreneurs are invited to apply for up to £1 millon investment to develop and commercialise innovations with a focus on developing general practice of the future.
