The National Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) Awards 2017 deadline has been extended due to demand, to 5pm on Wednesday 1 February.
The awards, now in their 11th year, feature some new categories which stand alongside the prestigious Healthcare Scientist of the Year award and Healthcare Science Rising Stars. The awards seek to capture and celebrate the diversity of contributions healthcare science makes to the NHS and patient care, whether this is through leadership, clinical research, technological innovation or communicating science to the public.
The awards are open to all healthcare scientists in England, whatever their role or grade. Awards cover areas from science and engagement (Science Week and other public activities), clinical leadership (Healthcare Scientist and Rising Star) through to research and innovation in healthcare.
