Fellowship in Medical Leadership and Innovation sought in Birmingham

Working with WMAHSN, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is introducing a new and exciting development for three doctors to undertake clinical work combined with an academic qualification. The contract can be for up to 24 months and commences in August 2017.

The post will combine:

  • Clinical work (approximately three days per week plus on-call/out of hours work)
  • Trust operational and corporate work with a senior leadership team, supporting an improvement project for doctors
  • An academic programme of study (approximately one day per week plus on-call/out of hours work) to undertake a fully funded postgraduate diploma (one year) or a master’s degree (two years) in NHS Operational Management at the University of Warwick.

The programme will encompass clinical work at the grade of Junior Specialist Doctor Standard level (equivalent to StR1-2 in core training) and will be supported by clinical and educational supervisors to provide senior medical leadership and mentoring.
