Tony Davis, Commercial Director for the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) has been recognised for his services to industry.
Tony picked up his Special Recognition Award at the recent Medilink West Midlands (Medilink WM) Medical and Healthcare Business Awards.
Medilink WM is a membership organisation with a remit to stimulate growth and innovation in the medical and health technology sector. Part of a national network, the organisation helps companies from concept through to commercialisation as well as nurturing collaborations between academics, clinicians and industry within the region.
Speaking at the event Richard Stone, Medilink WM CEO, said: "In the current climate of almost continual political, economic and commercial doom and gloom, the awards give us a very welcome opportunity to showcase and celebrate some good news, the positivity inherent in our regional businesses, and to shout about their many success stories."
WMAHSN also sponsored the Partnership with the NHS Award which was won by The Binding Site Group Ltd. Their project with the NHS aims improve detection rates - and decrease diagnostic delays - for Multiple Myeloma, the second most common blood cancer, with the longest time to diagnosis.
Winners from the evening will be entered into the National Medilink UK Awards taking place in April at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, as part of the 2018 Med-Tech Innovation Expo.
