Digital health summit explores the art of the possible for the West Midlands

A West Midlands-wide organisation, which supports the spread of innovation in healthcare, is launching a brand new digital service at an event next month, as well as discussing how new technologies have the power to transform people’s health and experience of care. The West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) is hosting the Digital Health Summit on 12 December, examining the mechanisms for identifying existing technologies, and for working with partners in developing new tools and services.

The Rt Hon Norman Lamb MP was alongside young people and cross-sector representatives recently, discussing strategy to prevent mental ill-health at a recent workshop. The West Midlands Mental Health Innovation Network, one of the membership networks of the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network, hosted the event to discuss mental illness prevention approaches and services for children and young people at Walsall FC’s Banks’s Stadium.

The West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) gained the gold accreditation from ideasUK for its Innovation and Adoption Service, which offers a suite of practical advice, support and tools to support healthcare providers and commissioners, academics and businesses with innovative approaches to improving patient care.
