Project Status

In Progress

The scope of the patient feedback app programme changed in 2014/5. Initially intending to evaluate a specific digital feedback tool, the scope was revised by the digital theme directors to analyse a range of approaches to eliciting feedback from patients.

The resulting report reviews the different vehicles (web sites, digital apps and social media) and uses (complaints, staff recognition, patient stories and testimonials) used by more than 100 NHS organisations to elicit patient feedback and will be shared regionally.

Programme Outcomes

  • The resulting report defines a range of feedback approaches, and reviews the different vehicles (web sites, digital apps, social media) and utilisations (complaints, staff recognition, patient stories and testimonials) used by over 100 NHS organisations to elicit patient feedback. The report includes the result of 53 defined searches which returned over 20,000 papers of which 75 were selected for analysis. Of these, 26 were fully reviewed, resulting in the identification of distinct themes for feedback methods.
  • The report will be shared regionally, and will form part of the 2015 opportunities for innovations process to attract innovations in this field.
