The creation of a programme of education and communication around the WMAHSN focusing on supporting organisations and people in understanding wealth creation opportunities throughout the NHS and social care provider communities.

The programme delivered a Health and Wealth Economic Summit to provide a detailed explanation of what is meant by wealth and to launch the seven point growth plan for the region. This was supported by a WMAHSN-sponsored special report of BQ Magazine, which showcased the West Midlands’ life science and healthcare industries.

Programme Outcomes

  • The WMAHSN delivered a two-day Health and Wealth Economic Summit on 21 and 22 October 2014 to provide a detailed explanation of what is meant by wealth and to launch the seven point growth plan for the region to deliver against. Challenges against the plan have been developed and will be communicated in order to develop and support programmes of work against the seven areas. 186 delegates attended.
  • WMAHSN has supported a 44 page special report of BQ Magazine, “The Next Generation of Healthcare”, which showcased the West Midlands’ life science and healthcare industries and contained five pages of editorial for WMAHSN, including a review of the Economic Summit. This reached BQ Magazine’s circulation of 40,000 senior managers and entrepreneurs and copies were circulated to business support organisations, NHS bodies and academic institutions across the West Midlands. The special report was used as a marketing tool to promote the region as a centre for healthcare excellence.
  • Successfully secured regional media coverage.
