Clinical trials and evaluation

Our membership scheme has seven enabling themes to deliver four West Midlands-specific priorities, including digital health. The seven enabling themes have networks available to all members and three of the enabling themes have services tailored for our enhanced membership.

West Midlands-based NHS organisations, universities and industry conduct clinical research of global significance. The WMAHSN will build on successes to foster an innovative, region-wide culture of optimum engagement in clinical trials at all stages of the translation path from research to practice. Collaboration with key expertise and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and other infrastructure will provide the opportunity to accelerate the conduct of research and adoption of study findings aligned with the healthcare priorities of the West Midlands. Through collaborative partnerships with industry, academia, patients, the public and the NHS, it is our ambition to make the West Midlands the destination of choice for the conduct of clinical trials.

Clinical Trials and Device Evaluation Network

The Clinical Trials and Device Evaluation Network is available for all our members and offers facilitated clinical trials and device evaluation specialist innovation and learning networks, focusing on our four priorities.

Clinical Trials and Device Evaluation opportunities for innovation

All members have full access to WMAHSN’s opportunities for innovation process, which is delivered through the Meridian online health innovation exchange and allows them to propose innovative approaches to trialling and evaluation, specifically addressing the four priorities and which may need investment to spread at scale and pace across the region.
