This event, from the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF), will be of interest to those involved with patient safety and human factors. The aim is to raise awareness of cyber security threats, promote cyber security among citizens and organisations, and provide resources to protect themselves online, through education and sharing of good practices. The CIEHF’s Midlands Regional Group have organised this event from 6 - 8pm, featuring two presentations on this topic.
The first presentation will be given by Gemma Beardmore from Equilibrium, a Birmingham-based cyber security consultancy, entitled Cyber Crime from Behind the Mask. The session will include a demonstration of a hack to show how easy it is for cyber criminals to access data. Gemma will provide practical steps people can take to protect customer data from cyber threats.
Amanda Widdowson will give a second presentation entitled Human Factors in Cyber Security, in which she will talk about cyber security risks. She will include examples of cyber security attacks and where and how human factors can be applied to reduce risks. She will also present an approach to address these risks, including some case studies.
