Our membership scheme is designed to deliver five West Midlands-specific priorities. The networks and support programmes for standard members contribute to the delivery of these priorities. We also recognise that our networks and other activities will often support more than one priority, i.e. that a network relating to a particular priority will be expected to support the objectives of the others.

Networks are an essential component of the WMAHSN, as they ensure that we constantly reflect on the needs of our population and respond to changes across the local health economy. WMAHSN’s networks discover unmet need and prioritise innovations for wider adoption and spread. Each network includes representation from the NHS and academia, the third sector, industry and social enterprises. Patients are engaged through the Person-Centred Care Network, which runs across all priorities.

WMAHSN organises a number of events open to all our members, with most offering delegate places free of charge and some also offering exhibition and/or pitching opportunities. We also hold our annual Celebration of Innovation Awards, acknowledging the hard work going on throughout the West Midlands across the whole life sciences sector, and rewarding contributions towards our overall aim of accelerating the adoption of innovation to generate improvement in the region’s health and wealth.
