At its Annual Stakeholder Event, held at Chateau Impney on 28 April, the WMAHSN launched its Annual Report 2014/15.
This annual report illustrates how the WMAHSN has met its objectives over the past year, including the consolidation of achievements to date, continuing the shift from development to delivery phase in each of the clinical priorities and enabling themes, demonstrating outcome measures and leveraging additional funding and finance.
After examining the geography, socio-economic, academic and healthcare context of the West Midlands region, the report focuses on stakeholder engagement, partnership working and working with industry. There are also spotlights on developments such as the Patient Safety Collaborative, the West Midlands Genomics Medicine Centre and the EIT Health KIC.
The approach of the WMAHSN to innovation is also covered, including the opportunities for innovations process, which sets out the thematic challenges faced by the West Midlands network over the coming years. Particular areas of focus are drawn from the Five Year Forward View, as well as the challenges presented by the local health economy, with innovative ways to reduce the burden of disease and demand on health and social care services welcomed.
The successes and achievement of almost 40 programmes across the WMAHSN’s clinical priorities and enabling themes are covered in depth, with spotlights on individual programmes, as well as the finance statement for 2014/15.
