The West Midlands Genomic Medicine Centre (GMC) has launched its new website, packed with education and training information to prepare staff to work with the 100,000 Genomes Project and embed genomics knowledge through all NHS professional groups.
The WM GMC is one of 13 centres across the country leading the way in delivering the 100,000 Genomes Project. The three-year project will transform diagnosis and treatment for patients with cancer and rare diseases.
The project also has the potential to change clinical practice, bringing benefits to patients across the region and creating a legacy which embeds genomics in healthcare, and a comprehensive education programme has been established to support the delivery of the project and provide genomics education and training. The suite of educational programmes that have been developed are all listed on the new site.
