An interactive event to showcase healthcare innovators from across the West Midlands is being held in Birmingham next month.
The event, Meridian LIVE, will commemorate the first birthday of the Meridian online health innovation exchange, developed by the West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN).
Meridian was launched in early 2016 and supports the spread of good practice to deliver improved health and wealth across the West Midlands. Meridian is a pioneering interactive platform for anyone – from NHS and social care employees to companies, academics to members of the public – to share their innovations and ideas, build groups and networks and make contact with people whose innovations could change healthcare in the West Midlands.
Offering around 200 delegates the chance to network with potential partners and to explore the latest innovations and advances within the region, as well as learning about the latest developments in WMAHSN priorities, support and funding mechanisms, this free to attend event is a must for medical and healthcare professionals in the West Midlands – and beyond.
Meridian LIVE will include exhibition stands from more than 40 organisations, ranging from the NHS trusts to healthcare companies and academic institutions. Exhibitors will deliver soap box presentations throughout the day, as well as interactive workshops on priority updates, funding and support opportunities, and there will be Mentor surgeries which can be booked with experts from WMAHSN, as well as from across the healthcare sector. A video corner will capture the thoughts of exhibitors and delegates on Meridian, their healthcare challenges and solutions and the event itself.
The free event will take place on Wednesday 15 February at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, home to Warwickshire County Cricket Club.
Tammy Holmes, Innovation and Adoption Manager at WMAHSN, said: “Meridian has grown from strength to strength in its inaugural twelve months, and Meridian LIVE will provide delegates with the opportunity to meet the people behind the campaigns and innovations submitted.
“The latest innovations and campaigns from Meridian will be plucked from the web, offering attendees the opportunity to discuss and share best practice, and delegates will be able to network throughout the duration of the event with innovators and potential partners.”
