HIWM awarded gold innovation accreditation from ideasUK

Published on 6 December 2022

We are proud to announce that we have achieved a gold accreditation from ideasUK, an organisation which celebrates and rewards workplace innovation.

The accreditation recognises the work of our Meridian Health Innovation Exchange programme. Meridian is a pioneering, interactive innovation health exchange for anyone to share their innovations and ideas, build groups and networks and make contact with people whose innovations could change healthcare in the West Midlands, nationally and internationally.

Meridian has been specifically designed to support the West Midlands’ innovation ecosystem, assisting NHS, academic, commercial and industrial stakeholders, and supporting a collaborative approach to resolving clinical and service challenges.

As part of the accreditation process, we were externally assessed by ideasUK and reached a gold performance level of 75-89%.

The ideasUK accreditation programme, which started in 2006, is a way for organisations to give both internal and external prominence to their employee innovation programme. The accreditation is an annual process, with the certification lasting one year from completion of the assessment.

Tammy Holmes, our Head of Delivery (Innovation and Commercial), commented: “We’re so pleased to have been awarded a gold accreditation from ideasUK. This is the fifth year in a row that we have been awarded gold status or above and it’s a huge achievement to be recognised by an international organisation for all the work we’ve done.

“We look forward to implementing the advice and direction provided by ideasUK to further develop the project in the future, ensuring that we continue to maintain the gold standard.”

As of August 2024, the Meridian platform will no longer be in use.
